A. The walk (4:1 – 6:9)

Paul has just presented the core elements of the church’s identity. It is richly blessed and has access to uniquely deep and unending power for the inner man and the community. So what should we do with such an array of resources? The call is to walk in a manner worthy of what has been received. The exposition is rather full, pointing to a series of life’s spaces where it applies. It begins by establishing the unity we possess that is to be a source of orientation and strength as we face the challenge of life in the midst of a turbulent world. With this emphasis on enablement and unity in place, we can face the array of settings in which it needs to be applied.
